After month’s off, Pin-Ups on Tour was finally back on the road and headed to Alpena, Michigan. On July 25th, the group had an amazing show at VFW Post 2496. Things looked a bit different with masks, temperture checks and social distancing - but the sold out show was a great way to welcome our cast back!
Before the show, we had the chance to explore the beauty that is pure Michigan. Some of our gals spent a few days at Churchill Point Inn on Hubbard, Lake. Churchill Pointe Inn is a historic 1920's era country Inn centered on a picturesque peninsula, overlooking the beautiful shoreline. We stayed in a cozy beautiful guest room, enjoyed a relaxing dinner on their lakeside deck and watched shooting starts with a glass of wine. It was truly magical!
During the day we explored some of the towns in Northern Michigan, including Harbortown, where we picked up some fun pin-up art at Ed’s Antiques. He has been there 35+ years and certainly has some amazing treasures if you ever find yourself in the area.
Down the street from the VFW was a true hidden treasure, Island Park! We stretched our legs in this 500-acre wildlife sanctuary in the middle of the city of Alpena, Michigan has walking trails, kayaking and an adorable covered bridge perfect for pictures!
And finally - a huge shout out to the 19th Hole in Alpena, MI for their generous donation during our tour this past weekend!! Thank you so much for keeping our performers fed and for keeping the hanger at bay! If you find yourself in Alpena, make sure you stop by for a great night out!
We are so grateful to VFW Post 2496 for brining us out to the area - we can’t wait to return to the beauty that is “Pure Michigan”.
